Gear Day 6/8/12

Sorry I have not been posting in a while but I am here to talk about the Gear Day for May 6th, 2012. There were four new gears like there usually is today, "Shark Launcher", "Starfish Shuriken", "RC Tank", "The Fiery Sun". There was one limited object, the "Shark Launcher" this gear started out at 750 Robux and has risen to 1k Robux since it has gone fully limited. Also the Starfish Shuriken is Builders Club Only and it costs 350 Robux. The gear The Fiery Sun is an average gear that costs 525 Robux. Finally, the item RC Tank is also an Average gear that costs 2k Robux.

Gear Day 5/11/12

5/11/12 Gear Day is a bit funny in some points but also has some very good gears. If you are having trouble buying the gears then look at my tip. For the funny part, it is funny because on the last gear that I have listed it was Limited U with a time limit and when the time limit ran out no-one had bought it since the recent glitches in the Gear Day so now no-one can buy the Sword.

If you have been looking at Roblox on Gear Friday and you cannot buy one of the gears here is a simple tip: just log off of your account for about 30 minutes to an hour and come back and you should be able to buy the gear of your choice if you have the money.

Gear day: 4/27/12

NEW BREAKING NEWS:

There was a break where Roblox fixed it tonight and they will fix it permanently on 4/28/12! Any Robloxian will be able to get these gears if you can afford them. 

This Gear day has turned out to be like a disappointment like two weeks ago with the Windforce, Swordbreaker, Sword of Light, and Sword of Darkness. All three items were frequently reported to have not been purchasable through the catalog. Some lucky users got their hands on these expensive gear. Hopefully, ROBLOX will fix this and let people get the new gears but I am afraid that might not happen. And with the new Katana coming out many Robloxian's were excited about getting a possible extreme value item like two week ago's Windforce.  These three gears were supposed to come out to everybody but instead the same hack as last week there is a hidden website where you can get it,  but almost nobody knows:

How to Create a Successful Place Preview - Part 1

1 - TAKE VIDEO WITH A HIGH QUALITY RECORDER

WHAT NOT TO USE: a real camera, such as a canon or flip or cell phone, because it won't come out looking good (at all).

If you are worried about RAM and Data, don't install Hypercam. Otherwise, Hypercam is an OK choice.

For my videos, I use the Roblox in-game recorder. It's simple and looks pretty good, though it's not really HD Footage. Here is a good example:

2 - GOOD EDITING WITH GOOD SOFTWARE

WHAT NOT TO USE: Youtube in-browser editors. Barely do anything and look tacky, not a wide selection of transitions.

The best video editor out there is Sony Vegas Pro 9, but it costs a ridiculous $748. So, unless you have that much, I would reccomend AVS video editor or Windows Live Movie Maker, which you can download for free with Windows.

A good example is shown above.

3- ADD GREAT MUSIC

WHAT NOT TO USE: Pop music like Eminem or Katy Perry because it doesn't go well with the videos.

The best thing to use is always instrumental - so electronic for a dance club and dramatic action music for an RPG.

Green Warrior Hat Review

Roblox's Rocking Reviews! Feat. Twintowers4u92!

Hi guys! Today, we are interviewing a fairly new but interesting hat. It's called Green Warrior.

Here are some basic eye-spotting facts about this hat:
 -If you look closely, you can see vines on the hat. Lime green, pretty cool.
 -It would probably go good with a pumpkin or a hat with tall horns or the gold valkyrie.
 -The horns have a cool eye-catching shade to it. Pretty cool, huh?

Now, it's time for the ratings! First, let's start with Texture and then end with Overall.

 -Texture ~ 10/10 ~ Very good overall. Nice shades and colors.
 -Mesh ~ 7.6/10 ~ It would go well with most hats, but the horns aren't that high of quality.
 -Price ~ 6.2/10 ~ Not that good of a hat for that price. More like a 350 robux hat, not 500.
 -Overall ~ 7.9/10 ~ Cool hat if you can afford it. I do reccomend it if you have spare money lying around somewhere.

Roblox's Quest for New Characters - Win or Fail?

ROBLOX has been looking into new character designs, and they are looking for User's opinions. Personally, I hate them - call me old fashioned, but I love my current blocky character. The new ones, shown below, are a bit too, shall I say, LEGOish?

Nice, funny hat that makes other's laugh when they see it. The price is affordable. Not a very original idea or anything too hilarious, but still a well made hat. My only concern is it is too similar to the "Melted Ice Cream" hat. But, the latter has been taken offsale and this one looks more realistic and I like it more.

New ROBLOX Buoyancy Features

The ROBLOX Physics Team have recently been working on a project for ROBLOX Studio to make ROBLOX game play more realistic! The feature is called Buoyancy.

WHAT IS BUOYANCY?

In real life, have you ever dropped an ice cube in your soda? It submerged under water, and came back up and bobbed up rapidly, while floating. Or perhaps you put a marble in a glass of water. Did it float? Of course not, it sank! The tendency of an object to float or sink when submerged in a fluid is called buoyancy.

BUOYANCY IN ROBLOX

When Water is added, Buoyancy will be one of the key differences between water and a Terrain Block. Certain ROBLOX parts will float and bob in water, while some will sink. Density of an object determines whether or not the object will float or sink. If an object is lightweight, like a plastic cup, it will bob above the surface and float. If it is something heavy, like a metal stapler, it will sink to the bottom. The Water Buoyancy Update has not been released yet, but should be soon! Stay tuned!

Earth Day Limited Items Review

I know there's been lots of fuss about these Earth Day Limiteds and it turns out they were both pretty good.

Aluminum Recycled Bowler Review:
This Bowler has 1000 in stock and was 250 robux. Not bad pricing. Alot of people could afford so it was pretty fair - the stock was good too. 1000s - not to bad and the price was cheap. We all questioned if it was gonna fail or not. The colors of this bowler are "Alright," I mean it is all Grey :\ The retexturer could have used something a little more bright. I think they could have put a little bit more effort into it....BUT the limited profited! The Bowler is now going for about 2x its price we bought it for so pretty good it also sold out fast it. In fact, almost sold before it hit the catalog.

Earth Rocks Shades Review:
These shades had 500 in stock and were 120.0 Now as for pricing i mean it could have been atleast to 1k. I don't really think it was a reasonable price for the 500 in stock. Like the bowler it sold out fast but quickly the prices anchored and were pretty much stuck between the prices of 1.3k-1.5k, which kind of shocked us all. It kind of failed. ALL THOUGH I must say these shades look amazing - I mean, they go good with alot of things and they get me in the spirit of Earth Day. I like em', I do not regret buying them - I would regret selling them.

Place Gallery Quality Upgrade

Quality Upgrade

As we have been informed by Shedletsky on Twitter, there has been an update regarding the new place gallery feature. As some users had been reporting, ROBLOX screenshots appeared blurry on the place gallery. Luckily, the Web Team did something to improve the quality.

This was a well needed update and we are happy to say that all users who spent money on their screenshots have had their photos updated. The old photos look like garbage that someone took a picture of on a 60's TV. The quality was absolutely awful. But the new ones look perfect, and make the games front page jump out.
